Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is a hypothesis free platform which characterizes all or a specific subset of RNA molecules (smallRNAs, mRNAs). NGS is the preferred platform for biomarker discovery projects. For our NGS services we established a collaboration with BaseClear, a Dutch company with decades of experience with Next Generation Sequencing and analysis. Their NGS services are based on the platforms of Illumina (HiSeq2500, MiSeq), PacBio (Sequel and RS II) and Oxford Nanopore Technologies (GridION X5).

Upon identification of relevant RNA molecules (potential biomarkers) by NGS in a limited number of samples, verification and subsequent validation by qPCR in a larger group of samples is required. At ACS Biomarker we offer custom qPCR panels for verification and can perform high-throughput validation studies.
